Here is a little piece of inspiration history:

There's been a lot said about Zueuk, but here are my thoughts on Peter too.

First off, lets go back to 2005. That was a time when very little was known about Apophysis. I was a noob. There were no plugins, Xaos, 3D, or post transforms. We had less than 30 variations to work with. Most people made flames by clicking buttons in the mutation window. When I asked Apophysis veterans in the art community how the Transform Editor worked I didn't get much of an answer. Apophysis was just gaining use as a stand alone program. Earlier Apophysis was used to make shapes to be imported into Ultra Fractal, or used to seed the Electric Sheep project.

When I found Zueuk's art in late 2005 or early 2006, I saw my first flames that left nothing to chance. Everything was designed by understanding how things work. When everyone else was just pushing buttons, here is what Peter was making:

  

He started a tiling craze. Everyone wanted to tile. Talk about inspiration!

He was not only innovative, but he showed a real quality of his art that had never been displayed in flame fractals before. Peter was the first in the trend to make Apophysis fractals a credible art form.



Peter was also the main developer who updated Apophysis from 2.02. He updated a lot of features especially the editor. He also added the Final Transform feature, and forever changed flame fractals. I remember his first fractal with a final transform. It shocked me and got me excited about fractals all over again.



About this time he also created the first noise and blur variations. Here's a fractal Peter posted while many, including myself, waited impatiently for the next release of Apophysis:



Talk about inspiration. The day he posted this picture I gave in and joined dA, and soon after abandoned my old art community.

Peter's other great innovation around this time was the JuliaN variation. Here he started another real fad!



The next major innovation was when Apophysis went 3D.



And all along the way, Peter has made art that is fun and original. And well named!

Well, my calendar is out.



I set the price to $14.95 because I would rather people buy it for almost no profit than not selling any. Not that I don't think it isn't worth it, but sales are hard to come by
