Great colors and tons of wonderful detail. It looks like a ceiling, as has already been mentioned, and the brown diagonal lines look like wooden pillars supporting it. The details are elongated and smeared so that this ceiling appears to be melting.

That or this is on the Apo homeworld, where the concept of beauty is just a tiny bit different from our own. :D
